What Levels Are Considered Balanced in Regards to Pool Water?
- pH 7.2-7.6
- Alkalinity 80 ppm- 120 ppm
- Calcium Hardness 200 ppm- 500 ppm
How Long Should I Let My Pool Pump Run?
For optimal circulation Aurora recommends running your pool pump 24/7. The minimum you should run your pool pump is 8 –12 hours a day.
What Is the Proper Water Level in My Pool?
Your pool should be filled 2/3 up on the skimmer. In most cases it is the third screw from the bottom on the skimmer face plate.
How Often and How Long Should I Backwash My Pool?
Normal operating pressure on a sand filter is between 8 psi – 12 psi. When your pressure gage is reading 10 psi higher it is time to backwash. There is no rule to how long you backwash. In most cases you backwash until the water coming out of the filter turns clear normally between 1- 2 minutes.
When Should I Clean or Replace My Cartridge Filter?
To determine when to clean your cartridge filter you will need to take a pressure reading when the filter is clean to determine a baseline pressure. When the pressure in the tank rises 10 psi higher than the base line it is time to clean the filter. Normally every 6 weeks. Cartridge filters should be replaced every 1 – 2 years.
Which Way Does the Solar Cover Lay on the Pool?
Solar covers should lay bubble side down.
What Setting Should My Valve Be on When I Am Vacuuming?
Your filter valve should be on the filter setting when doing routine vacuuming. Waste is the other option, and is great when the pool is exceptionally dirty but your water level will drop quickly when using the waste setting.
What Sizes Do Above Ground Pools Come In?
The most common sizes of above ground pool are 15’, 18’, 21’, 24’, 27’, 30’
How Deep Are Above Ground Pools?
Above ground pools come in 48”, 52, 54” depths
How Long Does It Take to Install in Above Ground Pool?
The average above ground pool install is done in one day.
Does Aurora Do Excavation?
When you purchase an installed above ground pool package from Aurora it includes delivery of the pool excavation and preparation of the pool site as well as assembly on the pool.

How Often Should I Drain My Spa?
Spas should be drained and refilled every 3-4 months.
How Long do Spa Filters Last?
On average spa filters should be changed yearly if cleaned regularly. The more often you clean them the longer they will last.
What Temperature Should I Keep My Hot Tub?
The temperature you keep your hot tub is really based on personal preference. We recommend at least 98 degrees because that is the temperature of the human body and anything lower will feel cool.
How Long Can I Sit in My Hot Tub?
The average healthy adult will use a hot tub for between 15-30 minutes. However if you have certain health issues you will want to discuss it with your doctor to determine a safe length of time.
